  4. Karyn,
You had a good message, and good evidence to support it. I liked that you aimed your talk at teenagers, because that is who you are giving it to. I also liked the slideshow. The quotes and images were interesting and supported your main idea.

You seemed rather mechanical as you gave your talk. You stood in one spot in one position. Don't be afraid to move around and use body language to better get your point across. I recommend wearing some shoes that you can move better in. Also, I would practice more to not use the paper.

Overall, good talk. I liked your message. It was well thought out. Also, I commend you for going first.

  5. Great job! You had amazing points on personal problems. It is important for people to be able to understand themselves before they try to understand someone else.

  6. I like how this ted talk of self worth was not how to find it, but about the journey that takes place. The ending was also poweful, and I enjoyed it.

  11. I think the ideas you are bringing to the table are very important in the way that everyone can take away something from this presentation. I hope that you go far with this idea.

  12. Self Worth-
She did a great job using examples to connect to everyone in the world. She doesn't tell us how WE need to do things, she says how she does it but leaves it up to us. We need to find out own self worth. If we don't she gets the point across that we could be affected by drugs, alcohol, and depression. Her points are very well stated. Before, I had never thought about self worth like this, but now I do. I think she did a very wel job getting her points across and it was very affective!

  13. I thought Karyn did a great job in incorporating story into her TEDtalk. She did a great job in being an inspiration to those who don't have self-worth, and also relating her own story to her struggle through finding herself and what is special to her about herself. I liked how she puts it on the audience, challenging them to find their own self-worth, what they love about themselves and what makes them special. I loved how Karyn finished her speech, because it was with confidence in what mattered to her and make it very meaningful.

  14. Karyn's presentation gave a very mature and complete explaination on finding self-worth. She gave many different reasons to support her point, and adressed the entire audience, not excluding any one group. All together the only thing that could have been improved was a little more practice. Great job Karyn!

  17. I think you bring up really good points that we shouldn't care about what other people think about us. I completely agree with that, as worrying about what people think of you does bring up problems, and you can do crazy things to try to impress people. I thought it was really good.

  18. I totally agree with your topic and I thought the quotes in the background were very effective. Good job going first!

  19. I think that Karyn's TED Talk was very relevant to us as students in high school. People are very dependent on other people to find their worth in life. I liked how she said that to find self-worth, people need to find themselves. It was a very interesting TED Talk.

  22. Karyn- Great idea! Many people will brush this off as a very small topic, but the stories you used helped me see that it is very important. You did a nice job on making your point very clear, and your talk was directed at the audience, instead of just talking.

  23. I thought that Karyn had a very good point. I agree with her that teenagers put to much stress upon themselves. When she talked about drugs, suicide, and depression, I felt that she had an understanding of this, not first hand, but maybe second hand.

  24. Karyn- What you said really resonated with me. Your message is very true and relevant. I could tell that you were a bit nervous, but if I look at just the message itself it is very sound. Great job on the content.

  25. I am honestly a bit confused at her speech. She talks about self-dependency, aloneness, etc. then concludes with, “I can get through anything with my friends.” You should offer more tips on how to improve this in people. How can people feel good and not have friends?
Also, you probably should not have looked at your paper that much.
