  1. Mariah,

Great message, and great delivery. You looked at the whole room, not just Ms. Smith. This is good. You also looked well rehearsed and comfortable. I could tell that you practiced.

I would work on transitions between your thoughts a little more. You paused a couple times between your thoughts, and this messed up your pacing.

Good job! I enjoyed listening to your talk, and hearing your message.

  3. Mariah- You knew that quote well! good job! This related to you very well. I can tell you are not afaird to be yourself. I like that. Even when you might have forgot something you did not emphasive that, you did a good job of keeping your speech flowing. Great Job!

  4. Mariah, you talked very well, you changed the emotion in your voice and how fast you talked to stress certain points. You made perception seem like a tangible thing. You connected all parts of your speech to the beginning and the end. You were confrontational in your challenge to us. Your examples weren't specific but still proved your point. Good job Mariah.

  5. Your talk was the first one that was truly educating on a subject that is very prevalent in all of our own lives. I liked how your talk was more of 'this is me take it or leave it' type talk. Great job Mariah.

  6. Mariah- What you said was completely true. I really liked the examples and explanations that you added to your speech. It seemed that you started out a little fast in the beginning, but you slowed down later and seemed to get more comfortable. Great job!

  7. Mariah,
I like that you encouraged people to take a chance and not conform to society. I think it would be very difficult for a lot of people to do this. However, I really liked the general idea. Great job!

  8. Great job! I think you brought up such a contraversial topic in modern society. I think it is important for everyone to get to know someone before they make judgements. It changes people, and that is absolutely not fair. I've had so many personal expiernces of changing myself for the approval of others and I know, it's not right. I agree it does need to change.

  9. I think you did a great job. I can tell the talk was practiced because you understood your topic and made it interesting to listen to. I loved your topic because I had never thought of it before. I think your talk really connected with the audience. Good job!

  10. Mariah- I really liked your topic. Conformity is wrong, and our need for belonging is really killing us. Your message NEEDS to be spread to all teenagers. This is the most relevant issue I have seen through all the TED talks, and you delivered it quite well. Excellent work.

  11. Maria: I like how at the beginning you start with "You are who you are" that got me instantly hooked on what you were going to say because so many teens go threw "figuring out who you are". You talked very smoothly and it was very interesting to listen to you talk. I like how it starts off with a simple word then leads into stories, quotes, etc. I think its awesome how you ask us who we wantto be. It makes us all think instead of just listen. You are such a great speaker and overall I think it was a great presentation! :)

  13. Mariah - Your speech was enlightening and interesting, and your commentary of the aspects and nature of people was great. You knew what you were talking about, and used that to create a genuine and impressive speech. Great job.

  14. Mariah: Your talk reminds me of an awesome argument I frequently have with my friends: What if colours looked different to different people? The key argument: The only way to describe colors are to describe that colour or things that use that color, which people see differently. Many colorblind people don't know that they are even colorblind. Aren't there good things about immaturity? God frequently says to act like children in the Bible. I agree with almost everything you said. Aren't there good things of multiple perspectives?

  17. Mariah- Your point about some teenagers being self involved and others not as self involved was great! I can relate to this, being pretty selfish myself sometimes. I liked your idea about being open minded, becausemany people aren't, and are quick to judge. Good job!!

  18. It's so true that we are taught to think of other peoples' feelings too much before we say things. I liked your point of how people will change themselves so that they can be with a certain person and how that's dangerous. Your presentation showed a lot of emotion and was very effective. Good Job!

  20. Mariah: Altough I was confused at the big picture of your speech at first, I liked the points you made. Perception is really important, because we can be easily influenced. Good speech!

  21. Mariah gave me a different perspective to look at life. All she said is true, and I didn't realize how easy it is to become influenced and to influence others. It was inspirational to see that perception can influence your entire life, and how you can't let your own life be changed for someone else. Mariah also paused to allow her audience to think about what she said, and she did a wonderful job.
