  1. Great pictures! Especially love the first. I also enjoyed the fact that she focuses on the USA; not in a selfish way, but it is something a lot of us have not thought about with other natural disasters around the world. Great use of empathy when she mentioned we have classmates in poverty!

  4. Great start with a touching story!
And binging in personal stories too was a great touch. I think that you were very easy to understand and spoke well. You had very touching pictures and made me want to help them. Great wrap up too.

  5. Brooke, the idea of your speech was very good. The pictures were very moving and went along with your talk very well. There was a lot of information that you brought to the light for me. I like the challenge you gave us at the end. The only things I would improve on would be to stop saying "um" and to put more emphasis on the sentences that needed to have more of an effect on the audience.

  7. Good job on your talk! Your slides complemented your presentation very well. I like how you slowly changed from telling stories to application. The only suggestion I would have is to speak a little bit more enthusiastically.

  8. She started out shaky but seemed to pick up steam and her tone was obviously one of passion, but it was partially hidden by her obvious stress and anxiety. What mattered was that we seem to pay attention more to other countries relief but not our own. She also stressed the poverty that has struck our nation. I think she could have maybe practiced her speech more, and maybe in front of an audience. Her hand were crossed in front of her and she seemed discomforted. Overall a worth cause and a good speech.

  9. Your presentation presents a great point that we need to care for ourselves before we help other countries. I like how you talk about how we shouldn't just ignore other countries, but we can't ignore the poverty in our own country.... Great job! It was very well put together and I enjoyed it:)

  10. Brooke had a very good point about poverty, how poverty affects America as well as citizens in other countries. American citizens should get more help quicker from Americans than citizens affected in other countries because these impoverished people live in our backyard, and they deserve the same American life as every other person does. This does not mean to stop helping every other country that has been struck by a disaster, but people need to remember to help out the people who live in the same neighborhood first instead of people who live halfway around the world.

  11. Your TED talk was so powerful. I loved the images that dipicted your ideas. The photos touched my heart because they showed people in our own country suffering, even little children! You inspired me and opened my eyes. I liked all of your stitistics and facts. Your message influenced me.

  12. You really give something to connect with, which is a great thing to do. Now that I think about it, you are absolutely correct, about how international issues have more "glory" then internal issues. This is a horrible thing and needs to be helped with. Good job Brooke!

  14. Brooke, you opened my eyes to what the world is like outside our cosy house. I didnt know some of these stats and they really helped me see what the other America is like. You could have done better without all the ums, but overall, it was really great.

  24. Your examples were really great and I felt like it was really easy to connect to the topic of poverty as a result. The pictures on the power point really made me sympathetic for the impoverished people. I think that your examples of what you do to fight poverty were really good too because it gave us something to act with.
