  2. Courtney, I do have pets! It was a good idea to mention the dumb friends league and pet therapy. It hits the empathetic side of people. Your pictures brought a smile to my face. A good idea would have been to move around while you were giving your speech. Overall, great!

  4. Courtney, I like your take on how important animals are in people's lives. They are a great stress reducer, and a great responsibility. Pets are peoples best other friends, and they love you for you. You had a great speech with a great message.

  7. I love how you didn't only talk about house pets! People don't realize how much work animals do for us everyday, from police dogs to seeing eye dogs. I also was very impressed by your presentation-- the transitions were smooth and the pictures were perfect for the topic.
p.s. High five for using the word symbiotic!!

  8. You picked a topic that many people can relate to, a good idea. I could really relate to the benefits of a pet because I know that without my dog my life would be way different, and probably not as happy. The nursing home example I also liked because my grandmother lives at a nursing home, and win I bring my dog to the nursing home all of the people just get happier. Your list of how pets are so great was also good because there were so many examples of why pets are great.

  12. Courtney,
I liked the real life examples it really brought the story to life. I know I love my pets more than anything. And I can't think of what I would do without them. Maybe we should all take a note from pets and be less judgemental. Good Job!

  13. This is a great topic. Everybody should have a pet at least once in their life, just because they are fun to have as well as building up maturity in an individual. Pets are a companion that can last for a very long time, and who's memory will last forever.

  16. Courtney started out with a reference to the Dumb Friends Leauge and her speech progressed very nicely. I will say that the cute animal pictures in the backround kind of distracted from the speech, but in the good way. She concuded with the point that pets and humans are in a mutually beneficial relationship and there is a pet for all of us.

  20. I have a dog too! I can completely relate to the subject and it's amazing how much a cat or dog can affect a person. You were engaged and you really knew what you were talking about. You were very still, and sometimes seemed a bit uncomfortable. It was really good!
