"Teamwork" was repeated throughout the talk, this drove the point home! Good in class poll. You gave me a new perspective on high school golf! I enjoyed each photo and especially the web of our administration.
Janie! You were very comfortable talking and your speech could relate to everyone. You gave many examples and showed how teamwork can apply to anything. I love how you brought up golf too, because it takes the support of your teamates and coach for you to do a good job. There is teamwork in everything! Good job!
I liked how you found a concept that matters but is not constantly put in the spotlight. Teamwork is how governments and societies work together every day to create the world we live in, but people seem to emphasize the individual rewards that they can gain. Great job!
Teamwork was the focus here. She showed how teamwork was important to family, sports, and education. Her strong point was that of the importance of teamwork in school and how it impacts the world with organizations like NATO. Her speaking was very soft and not at you, but that was okay for her topic. All in all a good presentation.
Janie, your eye contact was fabulous. As was the volume. I liked that you asked the audience about their lives. Don't be so nervous! You did great. Mr. Booth looks silly in that picture.
Janie, you have a very good, personal speaking voice. I like your message that we all need to work together to get things done. I also like the juxtaposition to what school would be like and how it connects. You had a good presentation and a good voice, Great job.
You really opened my eyes and made me want to look more at my family life. I want to fix my problems with teamwork. It can be applied to so many aspects of life and it is forgotten even when it's necessary. You lost track a couple times, but that's okay! It was five minutes and you did great!
Teamwork was a great topic for TED talk because Janie's presentation was great and not repetitive at all. Her presentation followed her backdrop really well. She also included the audience with various polls during her talk.
Teamwork is a great topic to bring up in a high school environment. I really like the point of family teamwork. Coming from a family where my parents divorced when I was younger, I completely understand how teamwork in a family benefits the family and how, when teamwork is not present in a family, the effects can be disastrous and last for a very long time.
Your connection from teamwork to family was really good because everyone has a family and so everyone can relate to the lack of teamwork that can lead to a family being torn apart. The golf example was also really good because I can relate to that also. Most people don't think of tennis as a team sport, but in high school teamwork is very important because the whole team from 4 doubles to 1 singles has to succeed for the team to succeed.
Now that I think about it, teamwork is more central then I've ever thought about before. Your ideas delve into a realm of the known, but not considered or ever thought about. Teamwork really does have more then one application.
I thought you spoke a little quiet and slow but I understood your topic well. I like how you brought in your sport and eduction. You also connected it to the world which was great!Your TED wish was awesome too!
Teamwork is very important, and I think that we don't stress it enough. It reminds me of the saying there is no I in team. We need to work together to make the world function. You had great speaking techniques.
You sound rather calm and comfortable.:) It was interesting how you talk about teamwork in different situations, sports, family, etc. It made me reevaluate my relationship with my teammates, friends, and family. Good job!
I like how you chose a less obvious topic to talk about. But it is so true team work must exist in families, sports, and schools. Great point! I like how you spoke slow and steady because I could easily understand you.
I can really relate to teamwork and this presentation. I loved how you incorparated the class. The challenge at the end was really great and a fantastic way to conclude it.
Teamwork is a good topic because it really stresses how to succeed. I never thought about teamwork in education, you really emphasize how education is different without teamwork.
Janie- I liked your presentation and slide show; the two, along with your speaking style, made the presentation effective. I also liked how you used many different organizations as examples to show teamwork. Good job!
