  1. Avery- Wow you started fast! Anyways You could have slowed down a little and spoke a little smoother. I think you should have talked while you asked us to get our phones out. You wree very passionate about your topic! Great job and be a little more confident with yourself!

  2. Avery, I totally agree with the importance of music. Practice makes perfect, and there are certain aspects of music that you can apply to learning. I liked how you told us about how music has made you a better learner, because it's the story of how music in education works. Great job!

  3. I agree with your point. I love music and I think it could help in school. Your talk was intersting and you had a great topic. I loved some of your points because they were something you normally wouldn't think of. Good job!

  4. Avery, good job incorporating the poll into your speech and connecting music to a wide variety of areas. More specific than school and broader. Good job explaining how music is woven into our everyday lives. Good job Avery.

  5. Even though Avery seemed a little bit nervous at the beginning, he really got into his topic towards the middle. It seemed as though keeping music in schools was very important to him. I enjoyed the TED talk very much.

  6. Avery: I like music is such a great topic. Everyone loves music, especially kids today. I've played piano for 8 years and LOVE to play music. I think that having music in education is a great idea. I gain so much knowledge personally from just playing piano. Overall, I think your topic and points were great! I think you did a great job :)

  7. Avery- using the technology was a great addition to your talk. Music is very important for the development of children's brains and definitely should not be cut. You kind of read off of your slides, but other than that you had a great talk.

  8. Avery,

Good message, and good insights about it. I also like that you used the cell phone poll. It woke us up from our daze of hearing so many talks.

I would memorize your talk better. Perhaps bring your notes up with you, just so you have that safety net with you. It can also help you be more comfortable.

Good job. Just work on memorization.

  9. Avery- I love music and it totally relates to dedication and practice like in school. I play piano and the drums and I think that learning new songs helps improve my focus in school. Great talk with a great topic and great examples!

  10. I didn't know you played an insturment. I play a Clarinet. Also, about that whole, L-Brained Class thing, why, then, does Arapahoe require 4 years of History and English and 2 years of Math and Science? I totally agree with you, though.

  12. Avery-
You did a good job. I like how you included different studies to support your point. I liked your poll because it really involved the audience. Good job!

  13. Avery- Good idea! I could tell you were very passionate about your topic. Your examples were very good, especially the one about the babies!

  14. Avery- You did not give enough time for people to send their texts. If you're going to use a poll in your presentation, use it! Other than that, I enjoyed it.

  15. I didn't realize how many benefits music had to people. The poll was also very effective in engaging the audience.
    Good job!

  16. Wow! That piece of music you showed us is ridiculously hard! Music is a cool piece of human society, and I like how you emphasize all of the non-traditional uses for music other than entertainment.

  21. Avery's TED Talk was great. Society does not understand how important music is. It defines us more intelligent as other animals and helps us in many ways.

  22. Avery- I thinkt that music is a umanity and I think key part of our humanity and think that these classes being cut is humiliating. I think that your TED Talk should be taken seriously.

  23. Avery- You definitely looked like you had practiced for that presentation, you took things that would be confusing concepts, or very unused, and helped us to connect to them. Great job!
