  1. Mitch,

You did not move much. Don't be afraid to move around the floor. Also, you kept your eyes on the slideshow. I would suggest a little more eye contact with the audience.

I liked your statistics. I also liked your specific examples, like your science class. This helps to center your talk around one thing, and keeps you from rambling.

Overall, I would say good talk. You looked well prepared and had your speech mostly memorized.

  2. Mitch told us his story about how education is important. By having a teacher that could make learning fun, he realized how much education means to him. He also showed statistics about how the U.S. spends more money on the Middle East rather than our own education. This shocked me because it shows that the value of education have greatly decreased. Mitch flowed well through his points, and never went off topic. I liked how he had an easy-going feeling about his topic, and he did a great job.

  4. Mitch- What a great example of education with your science teacher. The example of the world peace game and the congressmen example were awesome. Great supporting facts. I hope you do well.

  5. Mitch, your topic was very relevant seeing that we are all in education. Your stories were very well developed and helped your overall goal of the talk. You also made great eye contact and spoke fluently/clearly. You followed a plan and knew where you were going with your speech. Good job Mitch.

  6. Great job! I think you did a really good job of bringing in the statistics and reality that education is being taken for granted in America. I think the slideshow and the visuals you gave did a fabulous job of enhancing your presentation. You are a great public speaker, you have a loud captivating voice.

  9. Mitch- You we so confident in your TED Talk. Your subject was also very good and you had a lot of passion about your Talk. Great job! I also agree with you that education should be stress instead of foreign affairs and wars.

  11. Mitch: I like how you start out with a story and lead into facts then back it up with another story about TED talks. It adds more affect to the statistics. I think this a good topic because I think most kids today don't really like education and don't really like going to school. Your voice kept people interested. This is such a good point because our future can't get any where without education. I also like how you have an idea so we can help. :)

  13. I like how Mitch led off with a personal story, but it seemed as though his set up for the story wasn't really relavent because it starts with education and then goes into politics. Other than that, his talk was very interesting.

  14. Mitch: I enjoyed your political references and storytelling. I had no clue you gave such care towards education. I will just say that politics are complicated, especially in the middle east, but I support you in the ideas. You actually manage to get all the information through in a story and you get us to really reconsider politics: Why aren't they solved?! Why are politics such an awful game in which hardly anything gets fixed? People should be more politically active, especially minorities like the teenagers (as I outline in my talk). What I also love your talk is that you tell people how to get involved.

  15. Mitch- I liked how your topic was a different perspective as many teens would take. The way you found that education is important and it can change your world was very honest and coud happen with the right teachers. You sounded very prepared and passionate about your topic. You knew exactly what you were talking about. Great topic!

  18. Mitch- I really liked how you brought up the facebook statuses. I agree that education is important and many people do not realize. Also, I like how you mentioned the peace game. I think that if we made more of an effort to tell the government our opinion, our society might improve.

  19. Yesterday I was thinking about how many teachers had been fired and how the other teachers were having to take bigger classes and teach through more grade levels. It was surprising to see how much had been cut from the education and how we spent more on foreign affairs. I liked how you used the quotes from presidents as examples of what's going wrong and write, and then you gave us the challenge to talk to our politicians. Good job!

  20. Mitch- Other than going over the time, I liked how you used a lot of different examples of games and politics to prove your point!

  21. Mitch- you used very shocking statistics that really got my attention. It is incredible that our country spends so much more money on foreign affairs rather than educating the children of our nation. I really liked how you used Dr. B as a supporting point!

  22. Mitch- Your topic was a really great idea, and the story about your science teacher made it very interesting. The examples you used were good, especially the comparisons between America's education and the world's education.
