Megan- I loved how you used a personal story. Your pictures were a little graphic but i think that that brought your message to the forefront!!! Great job!!! Very moving!Sage =)
Megan told her story about how someone she loved had to go through the devastating effects of cancer. The way she talked about cancer was so meaningful because she spoke with raw emotion that made me feel empathy for what she's gone through. I could easily connect with Megan because my own grandpa passed away from lung cancer because of something he did in the past. I really liked your talk Megan, and I feel like this IS something that truly matters, because it effects everyone around you.
Megan- I really like how you confidently flowed from point to point. You had a great idea for a TED Talk and presented it flawlessly. Good job!
Megan, you started with a personal story which you still connected to throughout the speech. You broadened your perspective past just cancer and made it apply to all of our everyday lives. You also challenged us. Good job Megan.
Megan,I cannot explain how much your presentation meant to me. Your story really made an impact on me and I really appreciate you sharing it. I loved how after you told a story, you used a lot of evidence to prove your point. Wonderful job!
Megan: Cancer is such a powerful topic. My two grandma's, aunt's, uncle's, have all died from cancer. I also know many survivors. I love how you give examples of how we can lower our chance of getting it. It was so powerful when you told us how it is "our" problem, so moving. Your talk was so powerful, it was great! :)
Megan,Good job for not being afraid to use a personal story. Also, good job for polling the crowd. It got us involved and more attentive.I would move around more, and not keep your hands in one position. You can add a whole other dynamic to your talk with movement.Great talk, overall! It was meaningful and well given.-Matthew Cheney
The first word I think of: Death.Cancer is death. Almost every "natural" death is cancer. The only ways to die without cancer are: mortal wounding, poisoning, and diseases and defects. These aren't all that frequent in the US (I mean, they are, but not nearly as far as cancer( Okay, Heart disease is only slightly higher in the US. Then cancer.http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/lcod.htm
Megan- I'm very glad that you tried to come up with a solution to the problem and not just depressing everyone. Your solution turns a negative topic into a positive message. You make me want to become active. Everything was clear and well done. Great work.
Megan- I really related to your story. My best friend's mother also suffered from cancer. She died also and left her children orphaned. Your topic was very close to my heart since my grandpa also died from cancer. You did very well with the topic. I really liked how you linked the disease to everyone, because it truely doesn't only affect the person who has it.
Megan- Your story really related to me because I have know a lot people who have either died or survived cancer. YOu seem very prepared and confident. When you talk about diet and excerise I knew exactly what you were talking about. My aunt had cancer and lost her leg to it. She has changed to a microbiotic diet and has fought off her cancer for the second time. Great topic!
Megan- Your topic was very touching and relatable. I could personally connect, having known people who had cancer. The idea of cancer being everyone's problem was great, especially as many people who do not have cancer feel they can do nothing.
I understand how Megan's topic was a big deal, and a good one to choose, but I don't really see how we can take cancer as a challenge except for leading a healthier life. Otherwise, I really enjoyed what she had to say.
Megan-You did an amazing job! I loved your topic because it connected to everyone. I loved your story because it really made it more real and something that we really have to deal with.
Megan- I know at least one person that had cancer, my aunt. It affected everyone not just her family. After seeing the picture of chewing tobacco cancer, it made me pay my full attention to how not to get cancer. Great talk, yet it was a little depressing!
I really connected to your talk because Amy was an important part of my life too. I loved the way you connected to your first point to wrap up the TED talk. Great job!
Your beginning story drew me in, because it was sad. I liked how your talk was factual. YOur brought a lot of light and good information to cancer, which is something that does not want to be talked or throught about. Also, your point about tanning was very true. Good job!
Megan- You very emotional, and we all could easily connect to knowing someone with cancer. Amazing job!
Megan, amazing. I cried. The stories about Amy touched me so much. Amazing.
Megan - Your personal and emotional speech was incredible. You enlightened your audience with a fascinating and moving presentation, that flowed with precision and knowledge. Fantastic job.
I liked how megan used personal stories and gross depictions of cancer. It made me realize what cancer lookes like.
Megan- I loved your TED TAlk. I think your idea of changing the way society looks at cancer and changing the signifigance of those diagnosed we try and treat with cancer in the way try and treat them is a great idea.
Megan's TED Talk was very depressing at first, but then it got more upbeat. She made very good points and had a strong presentation. She made her points very clear. Good TED Talk, Megan.
Your talk was very emotionally as well as intellectually involved. It really made me think and realize that we can control cancer to a certain point. One thing that was effective was how you showed those really gross pictures, because it made the situation more real. Good job!
That was fantastic! Your talk was tugged at every persons heart strings and really hit home. Your examples and points were really great and helped you inspire everyone.
Megan, I really enjoyed your presentation. I liked how you talked about how to get rid of carcinigens in our lives, since it's sometimes possible to bring your chances of cancer down. I could also tell you really cared about your topic.
Megan, I really liked your TED talk. Although I was sitting in the front to the side, I could still really understand what you were talking about, and I was able to still think. I could tell that you were really passionate and that is great. It was really great.
