  2. I was really confused throughout all of the Macbeth scenes! I wasn't sure who Macbeth was? Whether they were witches? Who the women were say ing was "not as happy as Macbeth, but happier"? I also couldn't understand any of the company's portrayal of the scene?

  4. Yea, me too! I just need to know who Macbeth was in the movies and it would make a lot more sense!

  5. Maggie, when the witches were done with Macbeth, they turned to Banquo, who had asked them what would come of hi. They told him riddles. That is who they were referring to. Macbeth is the Thane of Glamis.

  8. It's due Tuesday. As for Macbeth I'm pretty sure in the movies he was the guy who talked last right before the witches disappeared.

  9. In Scene 3, the witches tell Banquo that his sons will be kings, but he himself will not. How does that work?

  10. I was also super confused through the whole thing like Maggie. What does Thane mean? Is it like a king or ruler? If i had known who Macbeth was when we were watching the movies, then i think i would have understood it better. The language is really confusing...

  11. Thane is feudal lord or ruler, Whitney

  12. Vivian, there is always the possibility that his sons will marry into royalty. If they do, they would become king/prince while Macbeth remains the Thane of Glamis and Cawdor.

  13. I am really confused on who the bloody man was in all of the movies, and I am also confused on who all of the characters are like Banquo and where he comes into play in the movie.

  14. Courteny- the bloody man is just a soldier that cam and told the King about Macbeth's victory. Banquo is Macbeths best friend and he hasn't played much of a role yet in the story. But once Macbeth has to make a decision about killing the king Banquos loyalty might be tested. Hope that helps.

I'm really no understanding Lady Macbeth. Does she not have a sense of right and wrong? How could she speak so viciously?

  15. Maggie, Im not sure if you have already found out, but when the witches say "lesser than Macbeth, but greater, not happy but much happier" they are referring to Banquo. Banquo is lesser than Macbeth because he is not going to be king, but greater because his children will be. He is not happy that he won't be king, but he will be happy because his children will be king in the future. Hope that helps!
