  1. Megan- I find this story frightening because it shows how little a government actually trusts their citizens. Through the thousands of personal freedom violantions in such a small portion without any word of its effectiveness, one has to think, "Is this really worth it?"

  2. Class- Do you think that this ultra secure screening process is also applied to people further up in the social heirarchy? Or is this just targeted at the non essential citizens to keep the vast majority of people in check?

  3. Class- Whhat is the symbolism of technology in this story? Does it represent freedom or imprisonment? Why do you think so?

  4. Matthew C- I think that Marcus was taken in at the beginning of the book to show that the times are changing. Instead of thinking that a nation's citizens are innocent until proven guilty, this book pictures all citizens are picured as a threat and the government deals with its people before there is a problem in the first place.
