In English on Thursday, after our usual half-hearted hello (fix this, people), we had a special treat added onto our work day. I’ll tell you about that after GRAMMAR! We did our punctuation, capitalization, and diagramming. For the first sentence (carla looked at herself in the mirror and recited the poem fire and ice) we capitalized the “C” in carla, the “F” in fire, and the “I” in ice. We also put quotes around “fire and ice” since it is not an epic poem. The diagram is posted here: http://www.box.net/shared/2pkbhfvlpu . For the second sentence (we saw a midsummer nights dream at the buell theater after we saw the play at ahs), we capitalized the “W” in the first we, the “A”, “M”, “N”, and “D” in A Midsummer Nights Dream, the “B” and “T” in Buell Theater. Also add an apostrophe after the “T” in night’s, and abbreviate A.H.S. The diagram for this is posted here: http://www.box.net/shared/umaommi66a . After we finished our grammar, we got to watch and episode of The Simpsons related to what we were learning about with our Wikified papers. The episode is called “To Surveil With Love” if you want to look it up. After this we had writing lab time to work on our body paragraphs. Our third body paragraph should be done by Friday. Have a great day!
